It includes various responsibilities like cashier, clearance, loans etc. It is considered as the most challenging role as you have to deal with the customers and have to be on your toes always as you are the face of the bank.
Be it any industry specialization in core departments is always needed. Similarly, the banks also recruit various specialist officers for the smooth functioning of the day to day tasks. This role is equivalent to the probationary officers Grade (1) and offers various profiles like IT Officer, HR Officer, Marketing Officer, Finance Officer etc.
The job function of a specialist officer completely depends upon their area of specialization ensuring that the bank functions with the optimum level of efficiency.

The main exam that is considered is the SBI PO and the IBPS PO exam. Both of the exams offer a massive job market. The main thing to be kept in mind is that every bank has its own selection criteria/process and individual set of papers. IBPS Conducts a common written exam for recruitment of Probationary Officers (PO) in different public sector banks (PSU) and State Bank of India conducts a separate exam for recruitment of Probationary Officers (PO).
